Welcome to the Global Surgery Student Alliance website! We are super excited to be a resource for students and residents/trainees who are interested in global surgery. We believe that health is a human right and that surgical care is a part of that right. Students have a lot to dedicate to this field and many are extremely interested in joining in but haven’t yet had the opportunity, so we hope that you can get involved and learn more about how surgery fits into the world of global health!
The GSSA Team
Become a GSSA General Member & sign up for our listserv!
Get connected to other students/faculty and learn more about what is happening in global surgery around the world by signing up to become a GSSA general member. We encourage students, residents/trainees, faculty, and anyone else to join, as we have plans for people at all levels of training. You'll also get to hear about research opportunities, conferences, and more! The general membership form is for medical students, faculty, and others. We have created a separate form for residents/trainees to gather information for more specific projects.
Check out our winter 2019 global surgery newsletter! We've included updates on what GSSA has been up to both on the local and national levels. We have also included submitted articles from students, residents, and faculty from around the country, as well as research opportunities, conferences, and more! If you want to contribute to our next newsletter, you can contact our Newsletter Editor-in-Chief, Tara Ahmadi, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
